The 21 Day Fix is a workout designed by world-renowned trainer, Autumn Calabrese. It has been around for a couple of years now and has produced thousands of positive reviews, and a whole bunch of amazing before and after success stories that can be found all over the internet.

So what’s all the hype about? Well, the results this program has produced are nothing short of amazing, and a lot of this can be accomplished in as little as three weeks. Let’s take a closer look at what exactly the 21 Day Fix is, how soon you can expect to start seeing results, and whether or not it’s a program you should consider trying.

Before we get started, here’s a quick preview of the program:

The 21 Day Fix is centered around a basic principle: Simplicity. Their motto is “Simple Fitness. Simple Eating. Fast Results,” so it’s no wonder so many of us are intrigued by this workout program. We all want to get in shape and lose weight as quickly as possible when we start a new diet or fitness routine, but can you really achieve amazing results in just 3-weeks? The answer is YES, as long as you follow the system that Calabrese helped designed. That isn’t to say that you do the workouts and follow the eating plan for 21 days and then call it quits, though.

Of course, you may be able to achieve rapid weight loss and tone up in your first three weeks but to make your results permanent, you’re going to need to commit yourself to eating the right foods, and getting the proper amount of exercise. The good news is that the 21 Day Fix can be completed in “rounds” so once you finish your first three-week session, you can start a new round and continue following the program.

The other great part about the 21 Day Fix is that it also includes a meal plan that is easy to follow, and helps you maintain and accelerate your results. I still use many of the tips I learned from the 21 Day Fix with my everyday eating, including drinking a Shakeology shake almost every day.

The eating plan is designed around a pretty basic philosophy: Simple Portion Control. When you sign up, you will notice that 7 colorful food storage containers are also included with your order. Each color represents a different food or nutritional element:

  • Green: Veggies
  • Purple: Fruits
  • Red: Proteins
  • Yellow: Carbs
  • Blue: Healthy Fats
  • 2 Orange: Seeds & Dressings

In addition to the containers, you will also get a shaker cup for your Shakeology – another important component of their diet plan. With their eating plan, they show you how to achieve results in a step-by-step guide that is simple, and easy-to-follow. With the containers, portion control becomes so easy, you don’t even have to think about. Just fill the containers with their designated contents as directed from your eating plan, and you’re good to go. That means you can feast on delicious and nutritious meals without the need of counting calories or carbs.

Even though I’ve moved on to other workouts (although, I still do use the Fix workouts from time-to-time), I still use my containers as an easy way to make sure I’m eating the right foods and portions most days – they really are super handy and a nice bonus you get for joining the program.

Exercise

Of course, Beachbody programs also include a healthy dose of exercise, and the 21 Day Fix is no different. The good news is, however, each workout lasts only 30 minutes, so you won’t have to dedicate hours each day to getting into shape. The workouts are organized in 6 easy-to-follow routines that come on 2 DVDs. With these routines, you really can get your workout in just a half hour, and then you’re free to get on with the rest of your day or evening.

Even though the routines are quick, they’re still challenging and produce amazing results when followed correctly. And don’t worry, either…if you’re a bit out of shape, or haven’t worked out in a while, there is always a “modifier” on the screen that can show you how to scale back your intensity a bit, without sacrificing any of the benefits or results.

The routines are categorized in 6 “Fix” Workouts:

1. Total Body Cardio Fix

With this workout, you keep your heart rate and metabolism in overdrive, even after the workout has finished.

2. Upper Fix

This Fix hits your chest, abs, arms, shoulders and back with targeted resistance training.

3. Lower Fix

Blast fat and calories while toning and tightening your whole lower body.

4. Pilates Fix

As is the cases with most pilates workouts, you’ll be hitting your core, toning thighs and hips, and elongating your muscles through stretching.

5. Cardio Fix

Get your body moving and that heart rate pumping with this super fun workout routine. Added bonus – you also get to watch the pounds melt away ;-).

6. Yoga Fix

I don’t know about you, but I love yoga workouts, and this one is no exception. At a brisk 30 minutes, it’s a great way to help with your flexibility, balance, and even strengthens and relaxes your muscles.

Results

The results from the 21 Day Fix workout routine speak for themselves! As with other newer Beachbody workouts that I have tried, I have used them to maintain my current weight, but I will say that it did help me tone up too – especially with my arms and core.
