Bowflex Elliptical – Getting the Most From the Max Trainer

Bowflex’s version of the elliptical is known as the Max Trainer. It may not officially be an elliptical in the traditional sense, but it certainly fits the criteria for one of these machines, plus it brings a lot more to the table than your standard workout equipment. This translates to better results in a shorter amount of time.

With these things in mind, let’s take a quick look at what these Bowflex ellipticals are all about, and why they are able to produce such amazing results.

An Elliptical Built for Speed

This is the display on the M3 – the M5 and M7 feature digital gauges with more functionality.

By taking the best components from an elliptical and a stair-stepper, the Max Trainer is designed to absolutely smash the competition in terms of quality and efficiency. With the stair-stepper/elliptical combo, Bowflex designed a machine that delivers amazing weight loss and fitness results in as little as 14 minutes of user per day. While this may sound unbelievable, they have the science and proof to back up their claims. They are able to deliver on this by providing users with

They are able to deliver on this by providing users with a HIIT-style workout, that operates on short bursts of energy, followed by a slower-paced “rest” time. This means you get an incredible workout in under 15 minutes, and will absolutely see results provided you’re doing it correctly.

Take a Look at What we Mean:

As you can see, the Bowflex workout is going to be an intense one, and even though you’ll be pumping pedals for just 14 minutes, you are going to be spent after just a few minutes of use. If you’re brand new to the Bowflex Max, it’s a good idea to ease into things, unless you’re a seasoned workout vet. Fortunately, they offer a variety of resistance settings, so you can put it on the “easy” version your first few times using it. After that, I increased the resistance levels to ramp up the intensity of my workout. Ultimately, your difficulty level will be up to you to determine, as you know the type of results you’re hoping to achieve.

Why the Max Trainer is Better than an Elliptical

Natural Movements

I’m not sure if you’ve used an elliptical before, but I know they just don’t feel natural to me. The stride doesn’t feel right, and I am never completely comfortable during my workout. This may not be the case for everyone, but it certainly is for me. The Max Trainer, on the other hand, is a totally different story. I find the movements to feel fluid and easy, and it seems to work with your natural stride and body movements. After you try one out, I think you’ll understand what I’m trying to explain. They just feel a lot better than other comparable machines that I have used.

Easy to Store

Besides their awkward movements, ellipticals can also be extremely hard to store. I know the ones I have owned in the past have been bulky, and tend to take up a lot of room, which isn’t typically a good thing, especially for those of us with smaller homes or offices. The Max Trainer is sleek and compact enough to comfortably store in pretty much any room in your home, and it’s even small enough to put in the corner of my small office. As you can see, it doesn’t take up much room:

Cost Effective

When it comes to Bowflex’s version of the elliptical, you’re going to get a lot of bang for your buck. Their M3 base model starts at just under $1,000, and that has been more than enough machine for me. For $999 you can have the Max shipped right to your front door, and with just some minor assembly required, you can be up and running in no time. Bowflex even offers assembly options for an additional fee, which I found to be worth every penny. When it comes to workout equipment, the last thing I want is for it to be not assembled correctly.

If you’re looking for higher levels of resistance and a broader range of features and options, then they also offer the M5 and M7 models. These range from $1599 to $2199, but the additional cost may be worth it for some of you savvy workout vets.

Either way, you can enter the elliptical market for under a grand, and you’ll be on your way to getting in the best shape of your life – these things bring the heat, trust me ;-).

Financing Available

In addition to their customer-friendly pricing points, Bowflex also offers financing options at the time of purchse, so that may be worth looking into if you would rather space out your payment a bit. Check out their official website to learn more about the packages they offer.
